Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has been in some hot water lately and the temperature is only rising. On Tuesday, a letter was sent by the US Senate Judiciary Committee requesting that previously undisclosed gifts given to Thomas by a billionaire mega-donor be revealed. The billionaire in question, Harlan Crow, has until Monday May 22^nd to comply.  

It is alleged that Mr. Crow has provided the Supreme Court Justice with various gifts, including luxury travel, private school tuition for a young relative, and purchasing expensive real estate from him. These gifts had not been previously disclosed by Clarence Thomas.

These revelations have led to numerous calls for more transparency regarding how the United States Supreme Court governs itself, with some calling for outside intervention from other sectors of the government. Is the Supreme Court capable of policing itself when it comes to ethics violations and gift disclosure?
